Neymar Jr.’s many hat-tricks
Do you know how many hat-tricks Neymar Jr. has done in his career? After a good performance in this last Sunday's game (14), for the Spanish Championship, in which he made three of the four goals of the victory against Las Palmas, he reached the 11th hat-trick of his career.
In the first hat-trick of his career, he scored three of Santos FC's four goals in the victory against Goias, on November 21, 2010, at the Serra Dourada, for the Brazilian Championship. He made six hat-tricks for Santos, two at Vila Belmiro and four away from home.
With the Brazilian National Team, the first time the number 10 scored three goals in the same duel was also in an eight-goal rout, this time in a friendly-match against China, on September 10, 2012, at Arruda Stadium, in Recife. He made three hat-tricks with the Brazilian squad.
Wearing the FC Barcelona shirt, Neymar Jr. has three hat-tricks. His first was on December 11, back in 2013, for the Champions League, when he rocked Celtic's nets three times in the 6-1 rout. That day, he became the first player to have a hat-trick in the Champions League and in the Libertadores. Of the three, only his last one was scored outside of the Camp Nou.
In some cases Njr surpassed the three goals, once scoring five goals in the same match. The athlete shook the nets more than three times in six opportunities: Three with Santos, one with Barça and two with Brazil, counting the game in which he made the four goals of the Brazilian Sub-20 team victory against Paraguay, for the South American Sub-20 Championship.
Neymar Jr.’s newest hat-trick came at the end of the 2016/2017 season, but the year is not over yet. With several games and friendlies ahead, both by Barca and the Brazilian team, the player still have many chances to take the ball home again.
