Neymar Jr. wins his third consecutive Copa del Rey
Last Saturday (27), the FC Barcelona closed the 2016/2017 season as Copa del Rey’s champions, after beating Alavés by 3 to 1. Neymar Jr. marked his presence in yet another final in the tourney and guaranteed his third consecutive title victory, becoming a three-time champion.
In his first season with the Catalan team, the player disputed his first Copa del Rey final in April 16, in 2014, but did not had the same luck he had in the others. The match was his third ‘El Clásico’ against Real Madrid, where Barça saw the title slip by its hands after a 2-1 defeat, at the Mestalla stadium.
As for the final Copa del Rey 2014/2015 game, in the season that Barça conquered the Triple Crown, the player shone inside the pitch and scored the second goal of the 3-1 victory against Athletic Bilbao. Besides leaving Camp Nou with the cup in his hands, the number 11 also left as the tourney’s top-scored, with seven goals.
In the following season, Neymar Jr. became a two-time champion in a hard match against Sevilla. So hard, that the goals would only come out in the duel’s overtime. Barcelona won by 2-0 and the player scored the victory goal, right at the end of the confrontation.
With the 3-1 victory against Alavés, in this last cup, Neymar Jr. became a three-time champion of the tourney, with goals in all of the finals that he guaranteed a victory with his teammates.
