Neymar Jr. is elected Best American Player at Liga BBVA’s awards ceremony
The year is ending and with that the parties and celebrations start happening. On Monday (30), the Liga BBVA held an awards ceremony for the 2014/2015 season for the athletes. Neymar Jr. marked its presence at the event and ended up taking the Best American Player prize.
Many athletes, coaches and football personalities were at the ceremony. In addition to Neymar Jr., other members of Barcelona’s team were also awarded: Claudio Bravo for Best Goalkeeper, Luis Enrique as Best Coach and Lionel Messi took two home, Best Player and Best Forward.
Barça’s number 11, which was already happy to be among the three finalists for FIFA’s Ballon d'Or, won the Best American Player prize. Along with him, James Rodriguez and Luis Suárez were indicated. The striker also ran for the Fans’ Five-Star Player award, but Cristiano Ronaldo was chosen.
"I am delighted by the award. I thank my teammates and my family. I'm really happy to be making history with my companions in Barcelona. I'm happy with everything that’s happening in my life, I am in my best moment! I believe this is a result of the good work I've been doing with my teammates", declared Neymar Jr.
