Barcelona defeats Atletico Madrid and is the new leader of the Spanish Championship

Barcelona conquered the leadership of the La Liga. Saturday (30), at the Camp Nou, Barca beat Atletico Madrid by 2-1, with goals from Messi and Suarez, and was consecrated as the new leader of the League. The team’s next challenge will be in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, against Valencia.

First half –

The game had a tense start at the Camp Nou. In the second minute, Saul, from Atletico, risked a bomb from outside the area that scared the culé crowd, but Bravo saved them. Barcelona was extremely marked in the field and could not attack. Nine minutes, after much pressure, Atletico attempts an attack through the right and the ball gets left at the feet of Koke, opening the score in the Camp Nou.

Second half –

The game remained difficult in the second half and the climate was warming up. After 20 minutes, the second Athletic defender, Godín, was thrown out, making it difficult for the team.

At 22, on a free kick, Messi took a direct shot to the goal, but Oblak prevented it. Arda Turan, on 33, following a pass from Busquets, could have scored his, but the ball went out the bottom line. With two players less, Atletico Madrid suffered attack after attack in their área.
