The decision for the gold: Brazil x Germany

Just one to go! After a tough road in the direction of the “Golden Dream”, Neymar Jr. and his teammates advance to the final and will have a strong rival ahead. Brazil will face Germany, this Saturday (20), by 17h30, once again at Maracanã. This is the last duel and the team needs to triumph to conquer the title.

The Brazilian Olympic Football Team made a great game last Wednesday, at the Maracanã Stadium. The team defeated Honduras by 6-0, with two goals from Neymar Jr., two from Gabriel Jesus, one from Luan and another from Marquinhos. Aiming at the golden medal as the only true objective, the coach Rogério Micale trains his players for the decisive game.

It was a long road towards the big final. The Brazilian Team won the friendly match against Japan by 2-0, but could not bring joy neither to the crowd or the media, when they made a scoreless draw in their first two games in the Olympics (South Africa & Iraq). The group received heavy criticism after the debut, but raised their heads and changed it all.

Against Denmark, they won by 4-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals. Later, they fought for the 2-0 against Colombia. In the semifinals, the 6-0 rout against Honduras. Brazil will face Germany undefeated and without receiving any goals, something that few expected.

Besides everything, with six goals in 11 games, the captain of the team is the third greatest Brazilian top-scorer in the Olympics and the owner of the fastest goal in the Olympic Football. If he shakes the net twice in this final, he’ll match Bebeto, the top-scorer, with eight goals.

Neymar Jr. returns to the pitch for his fifth match at the Maracanã stadium and his second against Germany. This is Brazil’s fourth Olympic final and their second consecutive one. May the golden medal be ours this time.
