PSG defeats Sochaux and qualifies for the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France

This Tuesday (6), Paris Saint-Germain ran over Sochaux in the Coupe de France, securing their place in the quarterfinals of the championship. Di María left his hat-trick and Cavani widened to the French squad.

First half –

54 seconds of game was enough for PSG to open the score outside home. In Sochaux’s wrong exit move, Draxler stole the ball and passed to Mbappé. The Frenchman crossed and Di María appeared to open the score. Sochaux did not like it and started to press. Pressed so much that, at the 13th minute, Ba saw Trapp in advance, dribbled the keeper and launched into the area. The Parisian defense could not get it away and Martin tied the game.

But PSG would not leave the first half tied for long. At the 26th minute, Di Maria found Kurzawa to throw the ball on the second crossbar and Cavani threw himself to push it with his right leg.

The first half was drawing to a close and both teams seemed to have trouble catching up. At the 40th minute, Di María almost did it, after laucnhing the ball on Thiago Silva’s head, but the goalkeeper defended the shot. After the missed chance, PSG dominated the game until the end, but did not manage to score more goals.

Second half –

The beginning of the second half was different. While PSG exchanged passes patiently, Sochaux bet on fouls. The pace was slow in the match, until, in the 13th minute, the Parisian team scored a goal. Verratti tabled with Draxler from the midfield to the area, where he passed to Di Maria, who extended the score.

And without letting Sochaux breathe, Di María made the third, in the 17th minute. After Cavani took the ball from the left and kicked, the goalkeeper defended and the Argentine appeared to complete the rebound. After 23 minutes, Pastore wanted to leave his mark, but the kick was not good enough and the goalkeeper Ati-Zigi got it. The game reached its 30 minutes and Sochaux did not seem to attack anymore.

At 44 Trap left the goal early, knocking out a Sochaux striker and receiving a red card. At the last minute, Dani Alves went to the goal, but could not get a defense, with the help of the barrier. In the end, PSG came out victorious.
