Nike’s new Mercurial Puro Fenômeno boots honors Ronaldo and Neymar Jr.
Tribute to both Ronaldo Fenômeno and Neymar Jr., Nike launched, this Thursday (21), the new Mercurial Puro Fenômeno. The number nine, icon of the Brazilian National Team, debuted the first Mercurial almost 20 years ago. Now the brand relaunches the model, honoring Brazil’s number 10.
The sides of the Puro Fenômeno carries the iconic blue-chromatic Mercurial launched in 1998, with modernized waves of the most newer models. The back of the cleats contains Neymar Jr.’s name, in colors that refer to Mercurial Superfly II (boot used by the player when he scored his first goal in the National Team). The phrase "Alegria e Ousadia" also appears on the sides.
Ronaldo sees continued success for Neymar Jr. “I feel a connection with Neymar. He’s a sensational young man, very balanced, focused, already following a great path. I believe the most important thing is to never ever lose the focus on being happy playing football; that’s how he makes many more people happy — watching him play,” says Ronaldo.
The respect is mutual. “He is one of my idols. Ronaldo is one of the greatest and most iconic players in history. I’m really happy and honored to have played with him on the Brasilian National Team,” notes Neymar Jr.
The new Nike Mercurial Puro Fenômeno are alrready be available on December 21, at nike.com
