Neymar Jr. will participate on the 2016 Rio Olympic Games
The 2016 Olympic Games at Rio is almost upon us and the Olympic football team can count on the presence of a new player. The FC Barcelona officially announced, last Wednesday (20), that Neymar Jr. will play at Rio’s Olympic Games along with his teammates.
For being a year older then the necessary for acting on the olympic group, the striker’s liberation had to be accepted by the Catalan team. Njr was authorized to play only on the Olympic Games, not being able, this way, to play on Copa América, that starts on the third day of June.
“FC Barcelona expresses its gratitude to the Brazilian Football Confederation and its president Marco Polo del Nero for accepting the Club’s proposal for Neymar Jr to only play at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this summer, to be held from August 3 to 21”.
On April 14th a raffle was made, revealing the adversaries of the masculine team on the dispute for the olympic Golden medal. Neymar Jr. and his teammates belong to Group A and they’ll face South Africa, Iraq and Denmark respectively.
