Neymar Jr. is one of the ten nominees for the Puskás 2016 prize

This Sunday (21), FIFA announced the ten candidates for the Puskás 2016 prize and Neymar Jr. is among them. The Puskás prize is one of the most awaited trophies of the year for football fans. This year’s winner will be announced during FIFA’s ceremony, in Zurich, in Sweden, in January nine of 2017.

Barça’s number 11 is in the list thanks to his beautiful goal scored in the duel against Villarreal, in La Liga, in November eight of 2015. The player has been nominated back in 2010, won the prize in 2011, competed again in 2012 and stayed in third place in 2013.

Also, this time Neymar Jr. is not the only Brazilian in the list. Marlone, from Corinthians, was also nominated for his volley goal, scored in a match against Cobresal. Another highlight of the list, NJr’s teammate Lionel Messi is competing thanks to his free-kick goal in the game between Argentina and USA.

According to FIFA, only the goals scored between September 30 of 2015 and September 30 of 2016 were valid. The three final nominees will be announced in December two and the prize of best goal of the year will be revealed in the same ceremony that FIFA will announce the best player of the year.
