Neymar Jr. is chosen in Harlem Globetrotters’ annual drat
And it seems like Neymar Jr. would also be a good basketball player! The Harlem Globetrotters, an entertainment famous for their incredible skills in the basketball court, made their annual draft this month and they picked Barça’s number 11 to be part of their team.
Since 2007, the Globetrotters make an annual draft, picking athletes and famous personalities to be part of their team. Messi, for example, has already been part of the team, back in 2011. Thanks to his passion for basketball and his skills inside the pitch, Neymar Jr. was chosen this year.
"It's a big honor for me to be a part of this great team selected by the Harlem Globetrotters!! I always had fun watching their games, and here's a big coincidence. I was in USA a while ago and I talked to my father about how much I wanted them playing at the Instituto! The kids would go crazy with these guys... Maybe some day, right?", said NJr about the draft.
Besides Neymar Jr., the actor Kevin Hart, the swimmer Missy Franklin, the golfist Jordan Spieth, the reporter Craig Sager and the basketball slam dunk champion Devan Douglas, were also chosen to wear the team’s jersey.
“But we also look beyond the court, for those athletes and entertainers that have the qualities of not only being great on the court or the field, but also being a good person off of it. Those are the most important traits that make a true Globetrotter.”, said Sweet Lou Dunbar, the coach.
