Neymar Jr. breaks his personal record of assistances per year
2016 has been a good year for Neymar Jr. inside the pitch. But the player who became famous for being a top-scorer, now surprises for breaking another kind record. This year, the athlete breaks his own personal record of biggest number of assistances per year, arriving at the number 32.
Wheter he’s passing to Messi and Luis Suárez in Barcelona or for Gabriel Jesus and Phillipe Coutinho in the National Brazilian Team, Neymar Jr. already has his biggest number of assists in a year, ever since his professionalization. 2016 is not even over yet and the player has made 32 assistances in 57 games. It’s one number higher than his previous record, in 2013, when he made 31 in 70 matches.
Last Wednesday (23), in the duel against Celtic (team which he most made assistances in a single game, 4), for the Champions League, it was the number 11 who gave the pass for the first of Messi’s both goals in the match, the breaking his record of assists. Njr participated in about 1,07 goals in all of the games he played in 2016.
Currently, Neymar Jr. is the highest “butler” of this Champions League season, with seven assistances and five games. As for La Liga, he’s the third biggest one, with four, in 10 duels. With the National Brazilian Team, during the World Cup Qualifiers in 2016, he made six assistances in six games.
“I’m very happy for reaching this mark and helping my teammates to score goals. It doesn’t matter who scores the goal, the important thing is the victory.”, said Neymar Jr. about the assistances.
As for goals, he who surpassed the mark of 300 in his career this year, only shook the net 29 times. But 2016 is yet to end and the next final games promise much more for Neymar Jr. inside the pitch.
