Neymar Jr. attends to FIFA Ballon D’Or prize and stays among the three best players in the world
Neymar Jr. had a great day, this Monday, in Zurich, where the FC Barcelona’s number 11 was part of the FIFA Ballon d’Or prize. The star was competing for the Best Player of the World title for the first time in his career, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
During the big event, Neymar Jr. attended a press conference alongside the other two competitors, signed autographs, answered questions and took the stage while FIFA’s Best Team of the Year was being presented, in which he was selected for the first time.
Among the players selected by FIFA to join the Team of the Year are:
Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer
Defender: Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves
Midfielders: Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric, Paul Pogba,
Forwards: Neymar, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo
At the ultimate prize’s announcement, delivered by Kaka, last Brazilian player to win FIFA’s Golden Ball, Lionel Messi won the trophy for the fifth time in his career. Cristiano Ronaldo was second and NJR. on third. Coach Luis Enrique was also rewarded, taking the title of best coach in the world.
Although he did not win, Neymar Jr. felt grateful to attend to the awards again (His first appearance was back in 2011, by the Puskás Prize, when he won for the most beautiful goal of the year) and to be among the three best players in the world.
On the player’s words: "They are two idols that I’ve been following for many years. Before, I was at home watching, today I am here, on their side. Just to be here, for me, is already a dream. It's a great prize and a victory in my life. If I win, we party. If I do not win, we do party too".
