In Neymar Jr.’s 500th match, he scores his 100th goal for the FC Barcelona

The 4-0 rout against Eibar gave Neymar Jr. much more than a victory and a goal. That Sunday’s (22) match was the player’s 500th of his professional career. Not only that, but the goal he scored was his 100th while wearing the FC Barcelona shirt (counting official and non-official games).

It was a night of great things for the team’s number 11. With 171 games for Barça, 75 for the National Brazilian Team, 230 for Santos, three for the National Under-17 Team, seven for the Under-20 and 14 for the Olympic Team, the victory against Eibar marked his 500th game since his professionalization. The first time he stepped into the pitch as a professional was for the Santos FC, against Oeste de Itápolis in March seven of 2009.

As for the goal he scored, it was his 100th goal in Barcelona, between official and non-official matches. There were 60 for the Spanish Championship, 19 goals for the Champions League, 14 for Copa del Rey, three friendly duels, three for Joan Gamper and one at the Spanish Supercup. With 164 official duels for Barcelona, Neymar Jr. also tied his number of goals (94) with Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who played 207 games.

Throughout the 500 matches of his career, Neymar Jr. conquered 306 goals, 167 assistances, 312 victories, 98 draws and 90 defeats. Only 24 years old, but what are the next numbers that the future holds for the athlete?
