Brazil debuts in the Olympics against South Africa

And the hunt for the gold officially starts! Neymar Jr. and his teammates will debut in Rio’s 2016 Olympic Games in a match against South Africa. The duel will happen this Thursday (4), by 16h (Brazilian time), once again in Brasília, at the Mané Garrincha Stadium.

The Brazilian Olympic Football Team is coming from a great game against Japan, which happened last Sunday (30). With goals from Gabigol and Marquinhos, Brazil won the duel by 2-0. Now Rogério Micale trains his team to face their first challenge in the Olympics.

Soon after the victory on the friendly match, the team received sad news. The coach will not have Palmeiras’ goalkeeper Fernando Prass, due to an aggravation of his injury on the arm. The athlete will not be able to help the team in the Olympic Games.

Despite never having played against South Africa’s Olympic Football Team, Neymar Jr. has a good retrospect against the main team. The player has faced them twice and remains undefeated. On his last duel against the Africans, back in 2014, Brazil won by 5-0 and NJr was decisive on the duel, scoring three goals.
