Barcelona makes 6 and beats Sporting Gijón at the Camp Nou
This Wednesday (1), for La Liga, Barcelona received the Sporting Gijón at the Camp Nou and won by 6 -1. Messi, Suárez, Neymar Jr., Paco Alcácer and Rakitic guaranteed the goals, while Juan Rodríguez made na own goal. The next match for the culés will be against Celta de Vigo, next Saturday (4).
First half –
Sporting Gijón couldn’t breathe in the first half. The first goal came at nine minutes, after Mascherano made a good launch for Messi to score with his head. In the following minute, it was Neymar Jr.’s turn to find a great pass for Suárez to drible the goalkeeper, kick and leave the defender score na own goal. Until 20 minutes, the game’s control was absolute from Barça.
At 22 minutes, Sporting Gijón managed to go further. Álvarez ruled Busquets out and kicked, but the ball hit the pole. On the rebound, Carlos Castro scored. But Barcelona didn’t stop attacking. At 27 minutes, Rakitic got the ball and launched it for Suárez who just kicked to make the third one for the team.
After the goal, Barcelona took its foot out of the accelerator, with few ocasional lost chances. At 42 minutes, in the last big chance of the squad, Neymar Jr. stole the ball from Lilo, invaded the area dribbling his defenders, but kicked in the goalkeeper, missing it.
Second half –
Five minutes was the necessary time for Barça to score its fourth goal. Messi came from the right and passed for Alcacer, in the center, to shake the net. The game’s pace was not the same anymore, but Barça’s control remained absolute. At 13 minutes, Messi made the free-kick that almost got the squad the fifth goal, but hit the pole.
But if Messi did not score, Neymar Jr. apeared at 21 minutes to leave his. In a free-kick, the player raised the ball above the barrier and scored his goal. Barcelona made a few changes in the team to maintain the game reasonably accelerated, seeking one more goal.
The squad wanted another goal so much, that they got it. Rakitic invaded the area exchanging passes with Sergi Roberto, until the ball got left to him. The Croatian made a Strong kick, scoring the goal and closing the rout at the Camp Nou.
